Physical phenomena of interest
- Optical properties of low-dimensional and nanocomposite materials: nanothin films/laminates, nanocrystals (diamond, quantum dots, oxides), plasmonic metal-dielectric composites (enhcanced semiconductor absorber layers for solar cells).
- Luminescence spectroscopy of color centers, intrinsic defects, self-trapped excitons and rare earth impurity centers in inorganic matrices (especially diamond and oxides).
- Microspectroscopy of single quantum emitters, incl. surface-enhanced fluorescence and Raman scattering.
